When it comes to finding a particular detergent for your Ryobi pressure washer, you’ll want to ensure it is made specifically for Ryobi products. Most commercially sold units employ downstream chemical injectors to do their job, meaning that any soaps or chemicals are added to the water after the pump. Unlike upstream injectors, which adds detergents before the pump, downstream injectors work effectively at lower pressure settings and are especially long-lasting. Unless you convert yours to an upstream injector, you’ll need a detergent made to work with downstream injectors. Again, the simplest way to do this is by getting Ryobi brand detergents and foams.

There are various products that should not be placed in your Ryobi pressure washer. Regular detergents, soaps, bleaches, alkalines, acids, or solvents should be avoided at all costs, as well as industrial grade solutions. If you’re running low on pressure washer detergent or are on a tight budget, it may not seem like a bad idea to use one of these as substitutes. However, most average household solutions do a poor job at cleaning surfaces in the way to the same extent that pressure washer detergent will, with some soaps also leaving behind undesirable residue.

What’s worse is that these materials can also bring harm to the pressure washer itself. Due to being made with improper ingredients, you risk the gaskets losing their flexibility or jamming the tubing with sudsy foam and soaps. There’s also a likely chance that your warranty will no longer be valid if the problem at hand stems from using inappropriate cleansers such as these.

Pixel 9 Could Launch With “Google AI” and Several New AI Features https://spin-sorcery.net/pixel-9-could-launch-with-google-ai-and-several-new-ai-features/ https://spin-sorcery.net/pixel-9-could-launch-with-google-ai-and-several-new-ai-features/#respond Wed, 03 Jul 2024 10:11:38 +0000 https://spin-sorcery.net/?p=72370

The launch of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro will without a doubt have a heavy AI focus. Google just spent an entire Google I/O talking nothing but AI and the applications they believe will arrive in the near future. There’s just no way they wouldn’t follow that up with more AI chatter around their own flagship devices. The Pixel 9 launch will also be an AI launch.

A part of that launch could be the first arrival of “Google AI,” according to a new report. Google AI will essentially be the name for all of the AI magic a Pixel can do, because underneath Google AI is Gemini, the AI that so many Android phones already have access to.

A screenshot shared by Android Authority shows this Google AI with a set of features that includes Gemini, Circle to Search, Add Me, Screenshots, and Studio. Those final 3 in the list are what may be new when Google AI launches.

What do all of these new features do? To be honest, we don’t really know, but this is what the screenshot says:

Add Me: Make sure everyone’s included in a group photo
Screenshots: Find the info you need from screenshots
Studio: You imagine it. Pixel creates it.

Because we have no other info to go on, everyone is just guessing at what these could be. The “Add Me” feature sounds like Google might cook up a way to include people in a photo that may have been around an event, yet missed out on the big group photo. That’s odd and creepy, but maybe it’ll be great? As for “Screenshots,” this could be a feature where Google looks through all of the screenshots you’ve ever taken and finds data from them, as well as related data from the time you took the screenshot to return results. And finally, “Studio” could be a built-in image or video generation tool beyond just the wallpaper maker that Pixel phones have now.

I’m still processing these ideas while not trying to get too caught up in our guesses being correct. The general takeaway here should just be that the Pixel 9 is going to introduce a blanket AI term called “Google AI.” Google can do a lot with that.

Stay tuned for August 13.

George R.R. Martin comments briefly on Elden Ring movie rumour https://spin-sorcery.net/george-r-r-martin-comments-briefly-on-elden-ring-movie-rumour/ https://spin-sorcery.net/george-r-r-martin-comments-briefly-on-elden-ring-movie-rumour/#respond Wed, 03 Jul 2024 10:07:36 +0000 https://spin-sorcery.net/?p=72365

You might not have known that George R. R. Martin, the writer of the beloved A Song of Ice and Fire book series, also wrote the lore of The Game Awards 2022 Game of the Year winner, Elden Ring.

Now, in a recent blog post, Martin commented on the rumours of an Elden Ring film or TV series.

“Oh, and about those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on ELDEN RING… I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum. What rumor?”

Martin doesn’t really say anything about the rumour and has “nothing to say,” but there is some meaning behind these words. For example, “mum’s the word” in British slang alludes to a hidden truth or secret.

An Elden Ring film is certainly a possibility. Even Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of the fame game, said a movie could be possible if a “very strong partner” was involved. With Martin’s connection to HBO, I can definitely see this being a strong partner and a huge possibility. Even PlayStation has previously offered to partner with FromSoftware on a series.

Telegram Makes Sure ‘Content Creators’ Can Get Paid for Photos, Videos https://spin-sorcery.net/telegram-makes-sure-content-creators-can-get-paid-for-photos-videos/ https://spin-sorcery.net/telegram-makes-sure-content-creators-can-get-paid-for-photos-videos/#respond Wed, 03 Jul 2024 10:05:36 +0000 https://spin-sorcery.net/?p=72363

Telegram is implementing a new paywall feature for content creators, allowing them to place photos and videos behind a price tag. Snaps, Telegram, snaps!

There’s more than just getting that bag for creators, though. Telegram also announced the mini app bar, with users now able to collapse mini apps into a bar at the bottom of the screen. With this, you’ll be able to respond to messages or open other mini apps, then return to a mini app without waiting for it to load again. Extremely handy.

You can view how the paywall feature works in the short video below.

Other new features for the June update (yes, June) includes the ability to search through stories based on hashtags and location, plus a new Link Widget option for stories.

There’s a bunch of goodies in there. If you use Telegram for more than messaging, I recommend you check out the full blog post by following the link below.

Cambridge Audio’s first wireless headphones boast AB amplification and massive battery life https://spin-sorcery.net/cambridge-audios-first-wireless-headphones-boast-ab-amplification-and-massive-battery-life/ https://spin-sorcery.net/cambridge-audios-first-wireless-headphones-boast-ab-amplification-and-massive-battery-life/#respond Wed, 03 Jul 2024 10:02:56 +0000 https://spin-sorcery.net/?p=72360

Cambridge Audio is no stranger to the audiophile world or its denizens, who like to obsess over sound quality. So it’s no surprise that the company’s first set of wireless headphones — the Melomania P100 — have a bunch of features aimed squarely at this market. You can buy the new noise-canceling cans for $279 in either black or white starting in July at both cambridgeaudio.com and Amazon.

Design-wise, the P100 may share many design traits with other flagship headphones — the aluminum and plastic materials are especially reminiscent of Bose’s recently released QuietComfort Ultra Headphones — but under the surface lurks an unusual feature: The company has equipped the P100 with AB amplification, typically reserved for dedicated hi-fi components. It’s the same audiophile-grade technology that Cambridge Audio used in its Melomania M100 wireless earbuds.

Enthusiasts tend to agree that AB amplifiers produce better sound quality than the class D amplifiers you’ll find in the majority of wireless headphones, earbuds, and speakers. However, class D amps tend to be more efficient, making them the obvious choice when dealing with a battery’s limited power capacity.

This makes the P100’s claimed battery life all the more stunning. Cambridge Audio says you’ll get up to 60 hours when ANC is turned on and a gigantic 100 hours if you leave it turned off. In the unlikely event you run out of juice, a quick-charge feature gives an extra two hours of ANC-based playtime after just five minutes of charging.

The ANC technology is similar to many headphones in this space: You can select from ANC on, ANC off, and transparency modes.

If you’ve got one of the few smartphones that supports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sound platform, the P100 can also deliver lossless, CD-quality audio via the aptX Lossless Bluetooth codec. If you don’t have that kind of phone, you can still get lossy hi-res audio from the aptX Adaptive codec, which is supported on many more devices. You can also avail yourself of Bluetooth Multipoint to maintain simultaneous wireless connections to two devices.

Still, if lossless audio is what you crave, the P100 lets you listen via two different wired connections: USB-C to 3.5mm jack or USB-C to USB-C, the latter of which is perfect for connecting to Android Phones or the iPhone 15.

The company says it has gone to great lengths to tune the P100’s custom 40mm triple-layer drivers to deliver the “Cambridge sound,” but inside the Melomania Connect app is a seven-band equalizer that can be used to adjust the sound signature to your specific tastes. There are also six presets if you’d prefer not to spend too much time moving sliders around.

An available game mode reduces wireless latency, and it’s possible the P100 could make for a great set of gaming cans — the company says the earcups have pads made from “carefully selected” memory foam covered in faux leather. It also claims that “enormous amounts of time and testing” were put into selecting the clamping force to suit the largest variety of head sizes.

Those earcup pads are user-replaceable, and astonishingly, so is that massive rechargeable battery — a rarity in the wireless headphone world.

Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Vs. Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk: Which Is Faster? https://spin-sorcery.net/dodge-durango-srt-hellcat-vs-jeep-grand-cherokee-trackhawk-which-is-faster/ https://spin-sorcery.net/dodge-durango-srt-hellcat-vs-jeep-grand-cherokee-trackhawk-which-is-faster/#respond Wed, 03 Jul 2024 10:02:11 +0000 https://spin-sorcery.net/?p=72357

According to Dodge, the Durango Hellcat will go from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. That number is backed up by an NHRA certification, and it’s a timeframe that’s normally reserved for fast sports cars. The quarter mile takes just 11.5 seconds for the Dodge, which will eventually reach a top speed of 180 mph. Those are the kinds of numbers you’d expect from something like a Corvette, but when you put an engine under the hood of your three-row SUV that’s producing 710 horsepower, expectations are raised.

When Car and Driver tested a Durango Hellcat, it went from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds — very close to the claimed time from Dodge. The quarter mile was a bit further off the claimed pace from Dodge, taking 12 seconds to complete at 115 mph, but it was definitely close. Those numbers are made all the more impressive when you consider that the Durango Hellcat offers three rows of seating and weighs 5,534 pounds. But how about the Trackhawk?
